โ† Back to Hype League

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 July 2026

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This policy explains what Hype League Football ("Hype League", "we", "us") collects when you use hypeleaguefootball.com, why, and what we do with it.

The short version

Hype League has no accounts, no passwords, and no email addresses. The only thing that identifies you is a 4-emoji username you choose yourself (for example ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽฏ), plus the NFL players you pick each week.

1. Who we are

Hype League Football is operated by Anmoku Laboratories Pty Ltd, ABN 28 696 938 100. Hype League is a project of Anmoku Laboratories, not a separate legal entity.

For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@anmokulabs.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

WhatWhenWhy
4-emoji username (e.g. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽฏ)When you set up your rosterYour pseudonym โ€” identifies your entry, roster and league membership
Roster picks (1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE per week)When you lock in a rosterTo run the game and calculate your score
League name (free text)If you create a leagueTo name and display your league
League membershipIf you create or join a leagueTo show league standings

That is the complete list of information you provide to us.

2.2 Information we generate

From your roster picks we calculate and store your weekly points, article counts, position ranks, leaderboard position, and weeks won. This is derived from public news coverage of the NFL players you picked โ€” not from anything about you.

2.3 Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, and have no way to receive through the site, any of the following: your real name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, gender, photograph, location or GPS data, contacts, payment or card details, or government identifiers. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not use device fingerprinting.

3. Your browser's local storage

We do not use cookies. We store a few small values in your browser's localStorage, which stay on your device and are never transmitted to us as a set:

KeyWhat it holdsPurpose
hype-league-usernameYour 4-emoji usernameSo you don't have to retype it each visit
weekly-wrap-dismissedA week numberSo the weekly recap doesn't reappear after you close it
hype-intro-seenA version string (e.g. v3)So the intro video auto-plays only once per version
hype-intro-optoutA legacy flagLeft over from an earlier "don't play again" option; still honoured if present

You can remove your saved username at any time using the "Not [your username]?" link in the footer of the site. This deletes it, and your dismissed-recap marker, from that browser immediately โ€” which is what you should use if you are on a shared or public computer.

You can also clear everything, including the intro-video markers, by clearing site data for hypeleaguefootball.com in your browser settings.

Either way, this removes data from your device only. It does not delete roster entries you have already submitted, which remain on our servers (see "Your rights and deleting your data").

4. What is public

Hype League is a public leaderboard game. By design, the following are visible to anyone, with no login required:

This information is also available through our public API and through our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which lets AI assistants read leaderboards and trending players. Assume that anything you enter can be seen, copied and retained by other people.

Do not put personal or identifying information into a league name, which is free text. Emoji usernames cannot contain letters or numbers, so they cannot readily identify you โ€” please keep it that way.

5. No accounts, no passwords โ€” please read this

Hype League has no login. Your 4-emoji username is a claim, not a credential. There is no password protecting it and we do not verify that you are the person who first used it.

This means that anyone who knows or guesses your 4-emoji combination can:

Emoji usernames are also first-come, first-served and not exclusive โ€” a combination is only reserved for a given week once an entry exists for it.

Because your username is remembered in your browser, anyone who later uses the same device will be signed in as you unless you remove it. On a shared, family or public computer, use the "Not [your username]?" link in the footer when you are finished.

Please treat Hype League as a public, casual game. Do not use it to store anything you need to keep private or secure.

6. Server and infrastructure logs

Our application code does not read or record your IP address or browser user-agent.

However, our hosting and database providers automatically log technical information โ€” including IP address, user-agent, timestamp and requested URL โ€” for security, abuse prevention and operational reasons. We rely on those logs only to keep the service running and secure.

Note that some requests include your emoji username in the URL (for example when loading your roster or your leagues). Your username therefore appears in those provider-side access logs. Log retention is governed by each provider's own policy.

7. Service providers

We keep the number of third parties deliberately small. We do not sell, rent or share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners. We have no advertising or analytics partners at all.

ProviderRoleWhat it handles
SupabaseDatabase and authenticationStores usernames, rosters, leagues, scores; logs requests
VercelWebsite hostingServes the site; logs requests

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to investigate abuse or protect the safety, rights or property of users or the public.

Fonts and embedded content. The main site self-hosts its typeface, so loading a page makes no request to Google. The separate MCP app interface (used inside AI assistants) does load a font from Google at runtime, which exposes your IP address to Google in that context only. The site contains no advertising, no social media pixels, and no embedded third-party trackers.

Links out. The site links to X (Twitter) and to news publishers' articles. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies โ€” not this one.

8. News content about NFL players

Hype League scores media coverage of NFL players. We ingest headlines, publication dates, source names and links from publicly available fantasy football news sources, and score them automatically.

This content concerns professional athletes in their public capacity and is not information about our users. If you are a player or publisher and have a question about how your content is used, contact us at info@anmokulabs.com.

We do not guarantee that headlines or automated sentiment scores are accurate, complete or up to date.

9. The MCP server and AI assistants

Hype League runs a Model Context Protocol server so AI assistants can interact with the game.

10. Children

Hype League is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Because we collect no contact details, we cannot proactively identify a child user; if you believe a child has submitted information, contact us at info@anmokulabs.com and we will remove the relevant entries.

11. How long we keep data

Roster entries, scores and league records are kept indefinitely, so that historical leaderboards and season standings remain accurate. Local storage values remain on your device until you clear them. Provider logs are retained according to each provider's own schedule.

12. Your rights and deleting your data

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising them.

An important practical limit: because we hold no email address or account, we generally cannot verify that a given emoji username belongs to you. We therefore cannot safely honour a deletion request for a username on the say-so of whoever asks โ€” doing so would let anyone delete anyone else's entries.

If you want your entries removed, contact info@anmokulabs.com with the username and the weeks concerned, and we will assess the request and what verification is practical.

You can always remove the data held on your own device yourself, with no request needed โ€” use the "Not [your username]?" link in the site footer, or clear site data in your browser (see section 3).

13. International transfers

Our providers may store and process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

14. Security

We use encrypted (HTTPS) connections, keep administrative database credentials on the server side only, and apply row-level security rules in our database.

At the same time, we want to be straightforward with you: as explained in section 5, the game itself has no user authentication, and roster and leaderboard data is intentionally public. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not enter sensitive information anywhere on the site.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will post a notice on the site.
